Come July I was questioning the hell out of my life. I had just graduated college and frankly I had no clue what I was doing. My girlfriend at the time was the one who conceptualized the trip. $375.00 for the flight to San Jose, CR. Another $99 for the puddle jumper. It seemed feasible. I had $2200.00 in my savings account and my uncertain mind dictated a change of scenery. I booked my tickets and immediately called George and told him the news. We had been homies for a long time and always talked about doing a trip like this together but timing was never right. The universe finally expanded and gave us this opportunity to travel together. It was pure experience to say the least. When George and I are together not a minute can be wasted. Thats they way we have always been. Charge hard and don't look back. We got ourselves into a groove. Wake up, chug coffee, inhale Snapper Ceviche out of the massive cold aluminum bowl covered in flies, and have a smoke. Put the same board shorts and shirt on from the day before, obviously always wreaking of fish and that salty ocean smell. We some how never had the foresight to remember food, water or anything besides fishing gear for the day. We always go rogue when we are together. Any other way would not feel right.
