Hidden counterweights for a perfectly clean finish and our rubberized foot insert are two of our patented features you might not notice right away, but you will appreciate when you fish with 3-TAND. Our elongated hidden counterweight distributes weight evenly and reduces cavitation [especially on those ultra-fast runs]. Our rubberized foot with our name brand on it presses tightly, yet gently on the rod seat, keeping your reel securely locked into your rod while protecting your reel seat. If you are tired of your reel flopping around in the seat and you have to tighten the hoods on your reel seat often … you will truly enjoy this feature, along with the smooth runs and braking power our NanoCF Discs provide to you.

While other brands discontinue product lines on a regular basis (and the warranty and support of those models), we take a different approach at 3-TAND. Guides and anglers have relied on our fly reels for years, and will continue to! “Why redesign something when it’s this good”, has been our philosophy since 2014, and continues as we near 2023.
Companies driven by sales, mass-dealer distribution, and profit margins all share the same strategy … discontinue a model, roll out something new, offer SPIFFs … and sell more! That’s why year after year you find 30%-50% off sales, or BOGO offers near the holidays. If they can offer those discounts then, but not during the year, maybe that’s the reason why their reels cost much more, but deliver much less, than what we deliver all throughout the year.
